Home Theater Entertainment

This is an amazing device. I wasn't expecting this, but it turned out to be one of the most important upgrades to my audio system in the last 20 years. Seamlessly switches between USB and coax (detects active input) and sounds equally good on either. The cheapest way to upgrade both your computer and your CD/DVD source. I also bought a youyeeetoo case which, while difficult to install, turns it into a full fledged DAC that kills giants for a frankly stupid price. Terrific.

Incredible Value: Home Theater

If you're interested in DIY audio and need to add a DAC component to your project, this is for you. Excellent resolution and data type compatibility. I can't recommend it any higher! Can't beat this price (bought for $99) or 5 times more. Note: The board allows you to adjust the input volume. So if you are using PC or iOS hardware, you can use the input device to adjust the volume. This was something I didn't know about beforehand and I had a very low volume as standard practice, which gave a…

Great sounding DAC at a price most can afford

I bought this DAC after reading about it on audiosciencereview.com. It lives up to the hype and sounds fantastic with my JDS Atom headphone amp and Sennheiser HD600 banks. I got everything for less than $400 (bought used Senns off Ebay and replaced pads for less than $200). Ideal for headphones on my desk when I don't want to turn on tube amps. You need a suitcase, but there are many options for this. I suggest the one with the rounded sides in the DIY thread at ASR. It works and it's cheap.

Perfect! One of the best DACs I've ever heard!

Google "Tone Board" or "Khahas Tone Board" and you will find tons of information and discussion. Some discussions are very serious as this DAC is very impressive purely metrologically. In terms of sound and overall usage, it's amazing. Mac or Windows, no problem. Niche audio players and software streams are no problem either. Sound is excellent again, as measurements tell you it offers nothing more than the music you're playing. I could reproduce any type of audio resolution I had. Fantastic…

Great features, great performance

I am using this on my RPi 4 Volumio and am very happy with it. This board is very well tested in terms of SNR and THD+N, it's reliable and it's great value for money. The sound quality is good, but in my subjective and purely qualitative opinion, the Aroioc DAC board has a clearer and crisper sound. Unfortunately my Volumio player with the Aroio DAC had to be restarted every day or so and after a few days the Aroio just let me down completely. On the other hand, this Khadas board worked…

Too good for $ on Home Audio

I first listened to this on a friend's system. Compared to a few other DACs (including my own Schiit Bitfrost, as well as a few other similarly priced devices) the KTB had some flash, panache, and panache that others didn't have. And then my friend mentioned the price! So I ordered one as well as a Pi 4 and it works with Volumio through an old iPad. I use it to power my Ancient Hi-Fi system (tube and horn speakers from the early 60's and home made 2A3 and 300B amps. Noah probably had a similar…

Works very well but has a few quirks

The sound is very good - my music sounds great on it. The performance of this device is undeniable. I got the case from Audiophonics and it looks like a real, regular DAC. Very happy with the sound I get. However, due to the uniqueness of this device, there are a few features that you should be aware of. You have no option to power it separately from the USB-C input. This would make it easier for me to use this Android device without draining the battery. As I mentioned earlier, a case is not…
