Ordered a size 6/7 for my 5 year old hoping there would be room to grow. After one wash it shrunk a lot and now fits perfectly. I would recommend going up a size if you want it to fit now and ordering two sizes up if you want room to grow. Aside from the significant shrinkage, I highly recommend this shirt. It's a good weight, not too thin. The material is pleasant, the color does not change from wash to wash.

This shirt is made of soft cotton fabric with no loose threads and is well made. I have size 10-11. I add measurements after initial run-in in the washing machine. Wrist to forearm 15.5 inches. Armpit to armpit 14 inches. 19.5 inches from top to bottom. It's a little big for my 9 year old so I wanted to give her room to grow. and I see no way to change that. My 9 year old, who is a little small for a shirt in this size 10-11, is 4'5" tall and weighs 52 pounds.)
