Fun and Educational Kidsco Foam Dice Set - Assorted Colors for Traditional Games Review

Large enough to be seen, safely thrown on the glass table and quantity required. Our older group wanted to play a Christmas gift exchange game that used dice. In this time of social distancing etc I wanted each person to have their own dice to roll. Big soft cubes were the perfect solution.

Came in 2 separate shrink packs of 1 dozen cubes. Of those 24 cubes, only 8 failed to fuse with the packaging. Reflow occurred mainly along the edges, but also along some faces. Dice looks good with bright colors and feels solid. Perfect for our purpose. Unfortunately, they smelled so strongly of petrol/kerosene that we felt uncomfortable letting our daughter play with them (and not keen on touching them ourselves). These cubes are a great tool for math lessons. Especially when you have a lot of young preschoolers like us and need to be aware of choking hazards, these bones are too big to fit in little mouths. We are homeschooled and it's amazing! For the little ones, they have fun and also learn to count "blocks" one by one. For older kids, I use them to demonstrate addition, subtraction, etc. We count the dice and add or subtract numbers. This gives us fewer small "manipulations" that can be dangerous…

I chose this one because the pattern shown in the picture resembles the "classic" cube. These are not what I have and I find them visually unattractive. Apart from the bitmap they are as expected. Description shows two different types of cubes. I really wish the sellers would stick to the pictures of the actual item they are selling. In the first few frames, it shows the dots like a traditional dice set - a regular sized dot for one and diagonal dots for two. THESE ARE NOT THE REAL CUBES YOU WILL RECEIVE.
