A worthy stone with a future.

Despite the terrible experience with Revain I really like this product. Waste of money to buy coarser sand (under 400) which is expensive. Due to their coarser grain, they naturally wear out faster and don't remain flat for as long. Buy cheaper stones to fix the blade and save money on coarser grit (500 to 3000) to sharpen the blade. Anything above that just polishes your work for very little reward. Let's get back to this combination. A good coarser grit side for blade recovery and a decent…

Pros
  • Super Coarse 250 on one side and Medium 1000 on the other
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Excellent results, best tools of the trade

Haven't planned on writing a review yet because I thought I'd have to screw up some sanding work (this is my first Stein ) before I saw how this thing works, but it gave excellent results on the first try, even when I first learned how to use it (in my experience, I watched about half an hour of YouTube videos). I got this stone for my 8" Victorinox which was boring and useless for a long time. My electric diamond sharpener was not good for Victorinox. 20 minutes with this stone made this knife

Great stone for hand tools

This is a fantastic stone and this stone will do all your cutting needs on its own except for polishing if you don't want to polish your edges. The 1000 grit is pleasant to the touch and gives excellent results. The 250 grit side is great, feels good, really picks up water and cuts fast. It is excellent for reprofiling edges or sharpening very dull edges. When you're in a hurry and don't have time to fully sharpen, the 250 grit side can quickly give your knife a good "working edge" to help you…
