Wonderful stone for hand and power tools

I like this stone. Yes, it needs to be flattened before each use, but it flattens out very quickly. I use a slab of granite precision ground to a flat surface and just use wet/dry sandpaper on it and it flattens out in just a minute or two. I love the feedback I'm getting from this stone. If you're at the right angle, you can feel it. Also, for some odd reason, I like the way this stone smells. Very artificial smell but I like how it smells like petrol :-) I've had this stone for 2 years now…

a decent finish polishing stone

I am a sushi chef and sharpen my knives regularly. The 1000 grit stone I have has been doing its job well for years. The only problem is that over time my knives get sharp enough to do their job but lose their shine. This stone gives your blade a highly polished finish and a very fine grind that we all appreciate. The size and price of this stone are almost correct. It's not a great stone by any means but I'm sure it will last me a few years as I will only be using it for final polishing…

Almost wide enough not to use a cross shape on my razor

This stone works great, I had to use my "leveling stone" to sand down the marks on the top before it was useful. Here's how I make a "Leveling Stone" for less than $10 and it works great. Get a piece of glass that is 1 foot by 1 inch or larger from the photo frame section at the hardware store ($3). $5) Now soak the sandpaper in water for 10-20 minutes before use, then simply place the wet sandpaper on the glass. Capillary action keeps the sandpaper from moving and you can level the stone very…
