Bought to use mainly as a rashguard while swimming. They're great for a variety of exercises, so they're not as flimsy as your standard rashguard. They remind me more of training leggings with some compression. They're good quality and thick enough that I'm pretty sure I'll get the UV protection I'm looking for. Let me first say the pants are so comfortable! They feel light, like swimsuit fabric, and dry quickly, just like swimsuits should.
