Good luck, they're just over the top! We have a rear french door that is set high so the previous doorstops didn't work because they were all "over the top". It's heavy, has a great base, and stops the door perfectly. This works perfectly thanks to its bulk, grippy base and protective tape so it doesn't damage the door.

The doorstop on the hinge does not work very well. Often someone enters the house and the door swings open in the drywall, leaving a hole. I'm tired of fixing it. This stop is very simple, place it on the floor between the door and the wall. The cushion around the ring ensures that it does not damage the door or wall.

We painted the walls and removed the screw in the doorstop and the kids banged on the door and dented it. My workaround is a sturdy, discreet doorstop. He does his job very well! It's heavy enough not to slip. It's discreet - nobody will notice it there. And it saves me from the wall. Excellent quality.

Our particular doorstop had a strong smell of mold - it could have been in a damaged container causing that smell but it really doesn't matter how it got that smell. It didn't go away after a few hours of direct sunlight so I gave up and sent it back. It also looks more like a stainless steel shell over some sort of core than solid stainless steel - not that the description says so, but make sure you're aware.

The bottom rubber on this doorstop holds up great on hard surfaces but I use it upside down on carpet. The metal plate makes it easier to slide across the carpet when I move it with my foot, the rubber piece helps keep my foot in place, and it's heavy enough to hold the door in place. The rubber ring on the outside ensures a soft and silent contact with the door. The construction is rock solid and the look is sophisticated. It seems ridiculous to be in love with a doorstop lol but I love it.
