🍽️ Kitchen Basics 101: Charcoal Range Hood Filter Replacement for Broan 6105C (4) - 97007696 Review

These filters are reasonably priced and thicker than existing range hood filters. Maybe they filter a little better than what we've used for the last 12 years. Putting it on was a little tricky, but not that difficult. I recommend them without hesitation.

Perfect match for the Broan hood. My only criticism is that it was sent in a bubble mailer rather than a hard box. As it is aluminum, the item was slightly dented in one corner during shipping. It didn't seem to affect fit or performance so I just saved and installed it.

These replacement filters are thinner than the original filter. Gap. I pushed the filter up and as long as it stays there but I'm not sure when it falls it will create a gap and suck the grease into the fan.

Ideal. The fine mesh has been replaced by this one. Doesn't matter! My extractor hood is a recirculation hood. The old filters caught a tiny fraction of the grease, but spread the smell of cooking throughout the house. These filters help remove grease, but they also have a major impact on removing cooking odors. Highly recommended!

Feels flimsy and flimsy. Arrived bent from being shipped in a bubble mail box with no stiffness. The mesh looks and feels like a washcloth, and the frame feels lighter than pop-can material. Definitely disposable and not to be cleaned/reused. I bent it in place because who really cares about the price. It ended up being half an inch shorter so it works just by sticking toothpicks in the edge if that tells you how thin it is.

Poor design. The carbon pad sandwiched between the metal mesh impedes airflow and the fan cannot effectively push the air through the filter. Our (newer) Broan hood directs air out but hardly draws smoke and grease out of the kitchen. Now everything in the kitchen is covered with a light coating of greasy kitchen dust. We end up removing the filter while preparing smoky/fatty foods to allow the fan to do its job. Never had this problem with the simple line filters we used. I will stop buying…

This activated carbon filter (size 10.5 x 8.75) has several metal layers on one side for good grease trapping and on the other side a carbon filter with a single metal layer. I bought this type of filter a few years ago and stocked up. I ran out of them recently and when I searched Revain I couldn't find any (I described the filter type in the search box but didn't show it), but luckily I found a SupplyEdge seller who had exactly the one I was looking for Also their price is a reasonable $13.91
