Kitchen Candy FBA_CC Red Collapsible Colander Review

My daughter found this. I got it and thought about it. Well, it fits my sink, it's very durable. It's easy to peel and drain all the fruit and I let them dry a bit. Heck, blueberries sat with us, snacking all day and working around the house. Anyhow, I love it. I wipe it down and wash it in the dishwasher every now and then. I love it.

The picture looks black and blue but the actual screen is grey-blue. Still beautiful but not as spectacular as in the photo. I used to have one like this in white and green that had mold on the plastic rim - nothing to do with food but still ugly. With a darker color it won't show mold but plan on NOT putting it in the dishwasher just to try and avoid the whole problem.

The front handles are adjustable and I can hang it over the sink. I bet it works with almost every sink. It's great for pasta and it's the only thing I've used it for. It folds down to a very thin thickness for very easy storage. I really like it but am skeptical that it will last for years with heavy or even moderate use. Luckily I'm an older person and only use it occasionally so it's perfect for me.

Great idea, but be careful when pouring the contents (pasta, veggies, etc.) out of the colander because if you're not careful you'll end up with mush on your hands. The folding design is rigid, making the colander difficult to close and open. Finally, I would like it to be more compact. Overall it's great because there's nothing quite like it on the market.

This is my second. They really do the job if you cook a lot of pasta. The only downside is that the creases in the folds will tear over time. But for me I can live with replacing it. I know I've had my first one for over 5 years but less than 10. As I'm replacing it I'd say I'm happy with it. I can also keep mine in a closet with sink-friendly cutting boards. My old colander was metal and had to be stored in another room because I just didn't have room in my kitchen for a colander that big.

Just used this for the first time to make some salads and fruit dishes and love it! It's a pity that I haven't come across this sieve for a long time. I'm sorry I didn't order this product sooner. That's incredible. I cook pasta a lot and have had a round plastic colander for 25 years that has taken up a lot of space in my closet because it hasn't fallen apart. Noodles always ran overboard. This colander is just the right size, fits in the sink, strains pasta without spilling, folds up, fits easily in my closet and adds extra fun. It's a sweet purple! I love it! In March 2017 we bought a pleated filter. It has been used many times. We love how it folds up to fit in the dishwasher or for storage. Goes well with our sink. Easy to clean, dishwasher safe.
