Dough hook fits bowls as above. To be honest I can't rate it higher as I haven't used the hook enough to be sure it's durable. It suits me at the moment. I would like to see if the hook coating degrades with prolonged use.

Bought to replace the original blade. The original was so badly oxidized that hands were soiled with gray dust. Not suitable for mixing at this point. I hope this coated one will last a long time. First I had to scrape some paint off the edge of the hole to attach the faucet. But it seems to be working fine now.

I love how the coating on this hook keeps the dough from spreading over the hook. However, I find that the spiral dough hook works a little better. I notice that after a few minutes of kneading, this dough hook just goes around my dough instead of going through it. Think next time I'll see if they have a coated spiral hook. The cover really makes cleaning easier.

My original dough hook was dishwasher safe and the aluminum was coming off. These days I've replaced all of my aluminum cooking and baking equipment with stainless steel. The dough hook does its job well. People who complain about the dough going up the hook or not reaching the bottom don't know what they're doing. These complaints are stupid. These are technical issues, not product defects.

Just made some loaves with my new dough hook. I bake homemade rye bread with rye sourdough; it worked well. My tentative comparison to the pigtail attachment is that the batter seems to want to rise on the corkscrew, but stays deeper in the bowl with the hook. This hook did not work with our KitchenAid Artisan mixer. The hook hit the bottom of the bowl, knocking the lid off the hook. This resulted in the gearbox being removed, rendering the blender inoperable. When I saw it was my late mother's blender, my daughter and I were devastated.
