Great for trimming the backs of brooches/pins/jewellery

I bought this cutter to trim the backs of brooches/earrings/jewellery to attach to my purse. I love it for that purpose. It's not that easy to close, but once it closes, it cuts through metal walls like butter. I can not believe that!

Pros
  • Nice little thing
Cons
  • Some nuances

Then I will buy a fourth time but I am a habitual person

Third pair but the handles seem very crooked. I also don't think they are as complicated as they claim. I mixed up the cutters when trying to cut some of the #10 machine screws (though I'm not sure they should))

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Good but not much better than other side cutters

Based on other reviews I expected the tool to cut more easily and cleanly than my existing cutters. I didn't find them better in any cut category. However, they are exceptionally well built and I expect the hinge to stay firm and strong much longer than other similar tools I've owned.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Nothing here

Nothing magical - power and hand tools

These are decent side cutters but for everyday use I don't see them offering any more than the other cheaper brands I've used. The tilted head is useful, but I've always wanted it to be more angular as I have to speak more English than seems necessary to get the job done. I've used other Klein hand tools in the past and found them to be quite good overall, but I'm not sure they're worth the extra money.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not bad

Spend your money, no more cheap tailors, quality outweighs the price.

Craftsman side cutters have been improved having used several pairs over the past 50 years. Bought a new ranch and knew I would have to deal with fence wire. I wish I had had them when I was restoring my Mustang and working on copier repairs. These are fast precision cutters. Cuts any electrical wire much cleaner than the old master. I've been stress testing with mounting bolts that are too long and these bad guys got through with no problem.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Expensive

Disappointed: Side cutters

The pliers lasted less than a day in fencing. The nose had broken off when I cut the S-wires from some sort of forbidden fence I put up in my horses' paddock. The pliers felt sturdy and to be honest I was surprised the nose broke. However, for just under 40 euros, I expected them to last a little longer. To be honest, this might be the limitation I am. I was not aware of the purpose of the pliers or a design flaw and that was the reason for 2 stars vs. 1 star.

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Secret

The best wire cutters money can buy

Prior to this pair I used small red handled straight wire cutters. I didn't know the difference between red and blue handles until I did a little research online and discovered that blue handles are made of tougher steel for cutting through nails and screws. I chose the journeyman pair because of the soft grip and the price difference was only $2 more. The tilt head allows you to apply leverage when pulling out staples and other nails that may interfere with the installation of new wire.

Pros
  • Pliers for cutting ACSR, screws, nails and the toughest wire
Cons
  • I'll add later

More Klein Tools J2000-48 Diagonal Cutters

These 8" Klein pliers are my everyday diagonal pliers that I use constantly for cutting cable jackets, wires and removing RX staples. , cutting ties, and probably hundreds of other things they weren't designed for. I find the tilting head makes it much easier to get into the electrical boxes and provides the extra leverage needed to pull the staples without tearing the tours knuckles. This is the Klein Journeyman 2000 series with blue handles and hardened blades. They're really the only ones…

Pros
  • Induction-hardened blades for durability
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
