Not recommended for outdoor use

The sun and heat will wear it down and break it in a few weeks. Next year I'll have to find something else to keep the tomato plants in place.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Great for controlling tomato vines!

Not what it was designed for I'm sure, but I use it to control my tomato vines. With 8 foot green plastic pegs and a foot long piece, I can use the elastic pieces to try and secure runaway plants. In the middle of the season it's the jungle! And you can use it again next season. The idea came from YouTube - a great resource for solutions for almost EVERYONE.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Almost never

Great for storing my tomatoes

So I use them for my tomatoes. MI Gardener suggested on Youtube that you can use this to tie up your tomatoes during the growing season. I've been using them for 3 years now and they work great. The elastic material is ideal, elastic so as not to damage the plant as it grows, offers some flexibility and lasts all season. Would definitely buy again.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Expensive

There is no better offer on the internet!

Elastic cord has become very expensive online, especially now that so many people are now using it to make face masks to protect against COVID-19. This elastic cord is by far the best deal I could find! I use it to tie my tomato plants. It's stronger and more flexible than the green vinyl tape I used before. Anyone who enjoys planting tomatoes will find this product a blessing!

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers

My gums weren't dirty like others have said BUT

My gums weren't dirty like others have said BUT. IT WAS ALL FREE in the bag, not on the BOX SPINDLE as shown in the picture. I had a HUGE project planned for this gum and it was easier to spend a busy hour untangling it and wrapping it on a cardboard spindle and then returning it and buying a replacement for my project. And it didn't matter BUT while untangling SO MUCH I saw 11 knots in the elastic in other similar purchases maybe one or two BUT WOW GRRR. I think I have all the leftovers thatโ€ฆ

Very bad for tying tomatoes to stakes

Bought this to tie tomatoes, peppers etc to stakes after seeing MIGardener recommend it on YouTube. And it works great. The elasticity gives the stems room to grow while still supporting them. The width is just right for knitting. My only complaint is that it's difficult to find the starting point on the spool. Maybe a little paint or something that the d9ne is with sewing thread spools and has a notch at the top of the spool at the end. Update 08/08/18: Despite MIGardener's recommendation toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Great price

Different sellers, different goods

Look who you buy from! I bought this once and got a wonderful rubber band spool. No knots - a solid piece of elastic - as you would expect. Then I bought it again and it was a different elasticity, the parts looked dirty and worn and there were knots in the middle. It also didn't come with a roll but was boxed instead. I spent an hour untangling everything and rolling it up on my old roll from my first purchase. First purchase would be 5/5 - perfect for creating ribbons to tie my game boxesโ€ฆ
