I gave 2 stars because at least the product seems to be of good quality. I bought this for my son's wrestling in SP and the knee pad got a hole in the first fight. This is now used on sports mats rather than hard surfaces, so I don't see why a hole could be torn in it on the first try. It should handle this type of use, but it clearly doesn't. If you're using it for shows or very light workouts it might be fine, but even anything where you're rubbing it against mats I'd hesitate. so why bother…

I'm only giving them one star because I tried on the medium size and quickly realized they were too small. Then I noticed that the size chart shown here on Amazon differs from the size chart shown on the packaging. I hope to be able to contact Hex to resolve the issue and hopefully improve this review :)

1: Wow, these things are small. I ordered what I thought would fit based on the description on the website and it would not fit our Christmas elf let alone my 12 year old daughter. Which clown does not allow returns for any reason. There must be a better way. I want to exchange them. nope Cannot be exchanged or returned. I am very upset. Next time, I'll save myself the hassle and just light the $20 bill.

Just finished 12 miles of steep dirt and based on other reviews I thought I'd kick them out at the end of the race. Instead they held up and I don't see any problems or twists in the material. They slipped while walking, so I just pulled them down while running and pulled them back up when I hit an obstacle. Knee abuse in an OCR event. I'm glad I had them. I will be making another Tough Mudder in two weeks and plan to use the same pair again and I am buying a pair for my wife to wear too…
