I've been crocheting for decades. I have always used metal hooks. I decided to try these on a whim. I love her. The threads don't break, the yarn slides easily and I can keep a constant tension. My only problem, and this is personal, is that I hold the hook a little differently than a hook without a tail. My arm hurts as my muscles adjust.

I like wooden hooks, the head comes out completely different - like a real hook, flat and rounded, not pointed at the head. With small stitches, it is not easy to go through the stitch. The biggest unsatisfying moment is that the set includes 4 extension cords, but only 2 different sizes. It would be more efficient if there were 4 different sizes. If you're working with fewer stitches that just stick out slightly above the needle, you still need to add that long tail. You should give 1 half…

Love these hooks! I was a bit wary as this is my first set of wooden hooks and was afraid of snagging and/or possibly poking through the twine. Both not. Very smooth and feels good in my hand. The flattened center allows me to easily control the hook and therefore my stitch. However, because they are so thin and smooth, people with arthritis or mobility impairments may find these hooks difficult.
