Knitters Pride Basix Circular Needles Knitting & Crochet Review

Knitting with these chunky knitting needles takes some getting used to. The round plastic rope part is quite thin and not too flexible. If you're prone to high tension in your knitting technique, you'll have trouble threading chains of thin round plastic rope onto bulky wooden needle heads, making your knitting much slower. I wasn't a big fan of these needles but they work.

The first set of these needles I ordered were shipped wrong and luckily Revain got it right. I'm working on my first project and one of most needles is rough and snagging so I need to sand it down a bit. Later that evening I found that the cord would come out of the end of the needle. If I keep moving, the cable will definitely come out and unravel the quilt I'm working on. This is a brand or seller that sells used items but I will never buy them again.

I love these wooden circular needles - they are much better than metal circular needles which hurt my hands especially in winter because metal needles are cold. These made of wood do not freeze and are much more pleasant to work with. They are very smooth without roughness; The yarn doesn't "stick" to anything, even where the cord connects to the needle. They also have nice sharp ends that slide well into tight loops (e.g. when making a pigtail while knitting). I only wish I had the whole set…
