I wish I had it back!

I have had many cameras in my life, very expensive and very cheap. I have never owned a battery powered camera like this. I bought batteries and a charger and then additional batteries. If you use it on a day trip, you'd better have spare batteries with you as this camera doesn't last long. Also, the compartment where you put the batteries has a slide switch that locks it in place to keep the batteries inside. If you do pick up a camera at all, take it out of your bag or even wear it around…

Pros
  • The AZ401's 16 million pixels give you sharp, detailed images. This resolution is enough to crop, scale, or enlarge your photos as your photographer desires.
Cons
  • Available in black only.

Best buy for the price!

This is the third Kodak I have bought in the last 10 years. The first two were published by Kodak Share and were great but were no longer in production. Talking about the third camera, a person should understand that I use my camera in harsh conditions 7 months a year. I am an on-site surveyor and carry out property tax assessments in three different districts every year. When I do my work I photograph any new structures or anything that might affect the value of the property. That can often…

Pros
  • Whether you're on the go or making changes to your work later, the bright 3" LCD ensures you get exactly what you're looking for.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Does not work with NiMH batteries

I bought this camera because it has the basic controls I need and because it uses AA batteries. All of my cameras use AA batteries and I have boxes of rechargeable NiMH batteries which I use in many of my electronics. They work perfectly in all my other cameras. The KodakAZ401 camera itself isn't bad for its price, but despite what the documentation says, it doesn't work with NiMH batteries. With freshly charged NiMH batteries, the camera runs for several hours and then shuts down with a…
