KOHLER GENUINE GP1016515 KITCHEN FAUCET Review

If you have any idea how the faucet parts fit together then this is an easy replacement. Kohler has limited how-to guides on their website. Nothing comes with a detail but the detail itself. Three months and no problems. Like new.

Our kitchen faucet (Kohler model K-10412) started leaking again. I replaced the same parts 4 years ago so I re-ordered the parts. They stopped the leak again and I think that with this use of the faucet replacing parts every 4 years doesn't take too much.

I think Kohler is to blame, not the seller. Bought and after about a month it started leaking around the handle. Put it back to see if something got under the seal and there wasn't anything there. I bought a second one from a local manufacturer and it's been fine ever since. Hopefully this isn't the new normal for Kohler parts.

The original valve part number was RGP1016515. Since this valve part #GP1016515 looked identical and just removed the "R" I took a chance and it worked great on my Kohler model R10412-BN-AB faucet. Time will tell if it will hold up, so I can't answer its long-term reliability in this review. The defective original valve was bought in 2007 together with the faucet. I also replaced the o-ring with kit #GP30420 which fixed the leak.

This valve kit was just what we needed to stop the leak in our 2.5 year old Kohler K-10412 Single Lever Mixer (Brushed Nickel). The leak started about a week ago and got worse every day, and two days ago it practically turned into a river. The parts arrived yesterday and this morning we fixed the leak with the help of our 14 year old son. The job took about 20 minutes total (think we could do it in 10 minutes next time) and we also included the o-rings and sleeve bearings (Kohler GP30420…
