This hose is really good. I was concerned that as part of the MasterShower series it wouldn't fit with the Awaken series. Luckily, it FITS the Kohler Awaken showerhead and Kohler stand. I ordered this hose from another location in 2014. It just broke so I ordered the exact same part number from Revain because it was $20 cheaper here. base and was a lot heavier than metal, I'm pretty sure it's plastic. The spiral winding around the hose was much tighter on the original, which was much weaker and thinner. The original appears to be three times heavier and more durable. Not quite as shown. Ends differ from original shown in picture. Original in the form of a small rubber ring (O-ring) in the center of the outside of the tapered piece that screws to the handheld probe foot and attaches to the wall bracket. This piece of rubber made it easier to insert and provided a bit of cushioning/resistance between the chrome pieces. This new one has tapered ends on both ends (nice ), which also differs from the original in which one end is tapered at the base of the handle
