The SSM2167 is a low-voltage, low-noise mono microphone preamplifier,ideal for low-power audio signal chains. Disappointing Performance for Price

The preamp compression failed to impress. Electronics were clunky and produced subpar sound. As my tests showed, the cost was not worth it for such mediocre components.

Works great - receiver and amplifier

My headset mic on my desk phone was too quiet. I connected it via a 2.5mm to RJ9 adapter and the sound is much better. IMPORTANT: Don't forget to remove R1 and R2 when soldering your own variable resistors! I covered them while doing this and it took quite a while to desolder.

No diagram or instructions

Product is practically useless without a diagram or link to it! If I missed it please let me know where to find it, thanks! With MSEE in hand, I figured I knew how to hook it up and test it, which I did. The data says the operating voltage is 3-5VDC, so I used a 3.7V battery and checked that the board was powered on. I connected the input and routed the signal back to the second input of the amp, so far so good. If you then examine the output, the result is: NOTHING. Everything else looks fine,
