Kreg KHC 1420 Automaxx Clamp 6 Inch Review

When I first got this clip I used it all the time. Then about 40 days after I bought it, it lost its clamping pressure. I contacted Kregtool through their website and explained the problem. 3 days later I had a new collar! I have several other Kreg tools and have never had a problem with them. I bought this clip and the 3 inch version just over a month ago. I've used it maybe 25 times on various light to medium carpentry projects. It worked great initially, so well that it adjusts itself and just turn a screw to change the tension of the clamp pressure. Until he failed. I really like the auto-adjust feature of these clips, but after a few months of use I found that they are not as strong as their regular non-self-adjusting clips. Part of the self-regulating mechanism broke, rendering it unusable after just a few uses. I've noticed that several other reviewers have had this issue as well, so the buyer should be wary. for adjustability is high, but for heavy use I can't recommend it yet.
