Looks solid: Alarm and anti-theft protection

Pretty heavy. I've seen several reviews of key spend issues. The key is not released until the lock is locked. So when you take it off the bike, you lock it back up and the key comes out. Make sure you have some sort of reminder that this lock is on your bike. It seems that if you forget to do this, it can lead to serious hard drive damage.

Pros
  • Hands-free calling
Cons
  • I don't like it that much, it works

probably saved the day

Well I'm glad I bought this. Last night someone tried to steal my bike by picking the steering column lock. They left the bike on my patio with that one on the disc brakes, so I guess they decided it wasn't a good idea to remove that lock. Let's see how much it costs to fix the steering column, but I have a feeling it's thanks to this lock that my bike wasn't stolen. although I'm sure a more determined thief could find a way.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • I'll text back later

Nice, fairly compact extra protection for your bike.

I am very happy with this disc lock. It's quite compact - fits under the rear hood of a Triumph Street Triple RX or a 15-16 Daytona like bikes with very little storage space. It fits nicely on my Street Triple RX's drivetrain, leaving some room underneath. The narrow disc slot makes it seem more difficult to insert a tool to break it than hinged disc locks from the same manufacturer as me. Pin works fine. The keys have a narrow head so they don't take up too much space on the bunch of keys. It…

Exceptional motorcycle security

Kryptonite Disc Lock is a heavy duty (2 lb) forklift disc lock with a thick 10mm hardened security pin. The lock is painted bright orange to alert a would-be thief that "this bike has a lock, look elsewhere for an easy selection". The key/lock function works smoothly and regardless of the weather conditions. This kryptonite disc lock is the only disc lock made from forged steel (not cast steel) so it is highly resistant to theft by thieves who use CO2 spray to freeze other disc locks and then…

Pros
  • Plenty of positive feelings
Cons
  • No power

Heavy-duty disc lock - buy it!

Great motorcycle lock. I live in San Francisco and this has been tested several times. About a week ago I noticed that my bike was damaged while parked on the street. Someone went to great lengths to remove this lock. They tried to pick the lock but to no avail. They used an angle grinder and a flashlight on this disc lock and couldn't get through. However, they ruined my rotors and brakes and dropped the bike during a hijack attempt. Just yesterday someone else tried to steal my bike. They…

Pros
  • Double reinforced high security disc cylinder
Cons
  • High price

Good locks.

I have 3 disc locks, 2 of them and 1 master; one on each disk. They are very strong, well made, I don't like that you have to just insert the key or you can pick the lock up or down and I don't like that a person I know can remove one of them almost as quickly without a key as with a key. These locks won't stop a seasoned thief. However, you will slow this thief down to the point where an easier target might be attractive. 2 in front and one in the back behind the saddlebag, which by the way he

Pros
  • 2 stainless steel I-keys

The best lock for the money

Only on the picture does it look thinner than it really is. I thought it was thinner than my TriMax but it's just as thick. This lock is also the only one I could find on the market that is forged and not cast. Molded locks are much more susceptible to ice spatter, making them easier to break. The locking mechanism is smooth and easy to use. My only complaint and it's small, the lock is very long. This makes it easier for a thief to cut it off. Suggestion for other riders: I recommend putting…
