This is not an evolution of kryptonite and not series 2 cryptolocks as the photos show. This is the usual chain of crypto blocks. But that's normal on a cheaper bike. Big enough to attach the frame to almost anything, but trying to attach a wheel is also a bit tedious.

I have had several bicycles stolen in my life. I feel good in this castle. Useful for small trees or other places where a U-lock would be difficult or impossible. And it would be a great self defense weapon! With a flick of the wrist, a KO punch could be performed with this suction cup.

I bought this lock to complement the kryptonite unlock. I mainly use this chain to attach the front wheel to the frame as I don't want to take the front wheel off. The lock is well made. I can't imagine anyone cutting that circuit without a power tool. The chain is heavy enough but not too heavy. The nylon cover on the chain is secured at both ends to prevent it from slipping through the metal links and exposing the frame. I am very happy with this purchase.

This lock is bulky and difficult to rotate around the seat post due to its width. Otherwise I like it very much. The protective cover protects my bike from scratches. One day I was walking out of the store and saw a would-be thief fumbling with the lock, but he got nowhere and my appearance caused him to flee. After that, I make sure to use two locks on my bike, so this isn't the only one. I wouldn't use it as the only lock in town or even in a suburb like mine.

This is almost a perfect lock. It is much more difficult to attach a cutting tool to thick square links than to a rigid U-lock shackle. The chain is relatively short, making it difficult to insert any tool into it. The downside to this is that the seat tube, rear wheel, and bike rack are difficult to bypass: you may have to settle for simply threading them through the frame. Do not buy this lock. I used it for the first time today (after making sure it worked at home) and after tying my bike to a pole in Midtown Manhattan, the key wouldn't open the lock when I came back. I just bought this lock and it doesn't work. And, perhaps coincidentally, the same thing happened with my previous lock of the same model.
