Expensive and weak - towing equipment and winches

Well made; excellent welds and finishes. It's unimpressed, however, and returns for four reasons: 1) grossly overpriced 2) tongue weight is only 250 pounds 3) not for towing, i.e. single use 4) 5/8-inch nuts are small; Paklock Pin 5/8" - 11 Coarse I recommend Curt 2" Drop Receiver over this one.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Compatibility

Ball joint money catch

Kuat comes with a threaded coupling pin with no locking mechanism. If you want a locking mechanism, you will need to purchase the "proprietary" threaded and lockable clutch pin. This is a technical product. designed to trick you into opening your wallet again. It is better to buy a universal hitch extension and a regular locking pin for a small price. No regrets Kuat, there are better ways to make money than nickels and belittling customers.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Be sure to tighten the bolt to minimize bike rack bouncing

I was considering buying a new bike rack for our Jeep Wrangler because our current hitch mounted rack doesn't work with the rear tire . A tire rack would cost over $250 if it only carried two bikes. Then I saw an extension cord at a bike shop for about $125, so finding it for almost half the price was a great deal. Now I can use my 4 bike rack with our jeep.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not the best

Does the job for a fee.

Benefits: - Now I can open the tailgate with the bike in any position on the Tacoma. lock out. So anyone with a wrench can steal bikes, racks and anything else. It's not as reliable as it used to be. So I had to use a tensioner. And the clutch tensioner only fits in the 2nd groove (this means the rail is now so long that you can't get around the car in the garage).

  • Comfortable

Great Hi-Lo clutch, very well done!

Strong, well made Hi-Lo clutch, perfect for our purposes. The non-OEM hitches on our 12 year old Honda Odyssey are under the bumper, causing our Swaggman 4 bike rack to fit too snugly when upright. Using only a standard extension will also place these types of accessories too low to the ground. Kuat Rack's Hi-Lo is here to help. The perfect length to move the trunk away from the bumper and add a few inches of ground clearance. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Best in class
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

Must be supplied with drawbar pin retainer

The drawbar itself is solid and well made. The biggest disappointment for me is the lack of a tow hitch. For the price I was expecting something other than the split pin that came with it. I would pay a few euros more if the item came with a lock. It was quite frustrating just seeing the castle on the internet. All items sold online came in a kit which I don't need. A call to Kuat's helpdesk was useless, too. I couldn't contact the person to just request the lock.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • So far so good

luggage rack that hits the 17" M/T when trying to open the sunroof hit the spare wheel. It now releases a good inch when flipped for a 2" drop and adjusted to 7" (since I take 3-4 bikes which is a little heavy and every inch backwards puts more weight on the tongue, I used the 7" position instead of the 10" position). The connections are tight and reliable, nothing rattles or wobbles. It's too early to talk about painting, but the paint looks good, no stains.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • so-so

The only bike rack product that doesn't lock. Kuatu is better to know.

I gave this product 2 stars. This could have been 5 stars so let me explain what Kuat did right and wrong. Good 1) The product looks good. The lines of the grip are good and the powder coating on the back looks nice. 2) It has a built-in latch to prevent the receiver from rattling. Don't waste time with an Allen key. You can't get enough torque with this whore and you'll probably end up with skinned knuckles. Use the wrench to tighten it. Bad 1) This is not a true class C receiver extender. The

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
