If for any reason you need a smart key to learn, this is your best option. It's such a simple device that it's tempting to improvise rather than spend a few bucks, but at the risk of damaging pricier hardware, it's the best solution.

When my roommate moved out, I saved time and money. I didn't have to call a locksmith. It took me longer to deliver the learning tools package (literally). Then it was necessary to change the key for the door, the process is very simple if you have the original key. The great thing for homeowners is that they save money knowing their property is safe.

smart key reprogramming tool works. The tool's thin nose does not fully enter the training slot, but stops about halfway. As soon as the tool stops, do not use force, but continue to learn the lock according to the instructions with a new key. Definitely worth the money if you expect to have to change locks at some point.

I used the smart key to change keys. It removed the Smart Quickset lock but didn't work with the new key and the old key didn't work either. I had to remove the whole castle. I researched the issue and read that the old Quickset smart locks were faulty (for various reasons). which made me wonder if there is another defect. Very disappointed!

This product works great but for convenience you will also need blank keys. There will be headaches, worries and extra trips to find Blais and then make sure they are Kwikset compatible. Just buy the $12 kit, not just this $6 reset tool. Well worth the extra $6. Headache, work, anxiety, possibly extra trips to return forms, etc.

I couldn't find a similar tool in stores (they sold it in packaging that cost way more than I was willing to pay) so of course I had to look at Revain. This is exactly what I needed to reset my new locks to a key of my choice. Kwikset locks are very easy to use and this tool is perfect. I highly recommend getting this tool if you don't need any additional hardware. Very small and portable.

I bought a Baldwin Smart Key Lock. Unfortunately my contractor who installed it for me threw away the box without giving me a key changing tool. Bought this in hopes it would work as apparently kwikset owns Baldwin and luckily it does. for any misfortune. This actually happened to me 😂 Luckily I found a YouTube video that explains how to fix the problem.

Not used yet, just got it in case I ever need it or if a friend needs to recode the lock. This is one of those must have things. UPDATE 1/15/19: So I realize I didn't do the remapping the way I wanted and I had too many wrong keys. I used the tool to recode all the locks with extra keys. Now all locks are key sensitive, which means I only have to carry one key with me. It was easy. Insert tool, insert key, turn 1/4, remove tool, turn key back 1.4, done.
