Remote didn't work. I changed the battery and bought a new battery but it still didn't work. I've tried resetting the remote by removing the batteries and holding the power button for a minute, again to no avail. Didn't see the light on top so I'm sending it back.

Ordered a few months ago as a replacement for my Element E4SFT5517. Now that I finally need it, it doesn't work. He turns on the TV *sometimes*, but that's all he does. Other reviews suggest this is a common occurrence - should have tried immediately as I am now stuck with this paperweight.

I ordered by the model number of my TV (E4SFT5517). Vain. He turns on the TV, but that's all. Don't even turn it off. It's useless to me. I think it's better to try the universal remote control.

The remote control (exact same model) that came with my TV had a very weak signal, nothing I tried worked. I had to get him within eight feet of the TV so he could even think about work. Decided to buy another of the same model; I didn't want to program a rogue model that wasn't made specifically for my TV, and it was cheap enough to take the risk. Works great!
