Bought and installed a front end kit for my son's Ford Ranger. I didn't like how they sit on the bottom bracket. They hardly fit. I think they were designed to fit as many different vehicles as possible.

Bought because interface says they are compatible. Once installed on the truck, they would sink to the bottom causing the truck to drive very hard. Neutral rating because I'm sure the dampers are fine, but not suitable for the intended purpose. KYB 344397 fits Mazda B3000 not this one.

I bought and installed all four shock absorbers (front and rear): braking is smoother. Curves are way better. Set fire to the two bottom bolts to remove them. The top screw broke off while unscrewing (saves me a few turns of the ratchet).

Shock absorbers were fitted to the front of a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer. Previous shocks were a set of Rancho shocks that were fairly stiff and felt every rock on the road, but offered excellent cornering and off-road handling. So far, KYB shocks have restored a smoother ride and great handling. Haven't ridden off-road with the KYB shocks installed, but I'm very happy with the on-road performance.
