Good replacement for OEM parts

Very easy installation. Just a screw at the bottom and a nut at the top. The ride feels a lot better than the OEM. Doesn't bounce as hard on potholes or bumps

Pros
  • Sturdy surface
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Disappointment with shock absorbers, struts and suspension

Just over a year and less than 4,000 miles later these failed. The lifetime warranty is a joke, can't contact anyone to find out what steps to take, extremely disappointing as the rear shock absorbers are fine despite towing my trailer 5 times.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Attention! Not made in Japan

So I bought them on YouTuber's recommendation. The essence of the sale was that it was made in Japan. That was the case in 2013. However, in 2014, KYB opened factories in Mexico and the company was very quiet about it. I noticed the Made in Mexico label on the box and studied it carefully. In fact, this is a KYB product (not a fake). KYB makes its shock absorbers in Mexico for America. The shock absorbers are much smaller than other brands and of similar quality. You won't get anything special…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Almost never

Good dampers at a good price

Excellent dampers. My mechanic said the mounting hardware is heavier than many other shocks and brands he's seen. It was a huge improvement over the old shocks and my 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD now drives like it should.

Pros
  • Durable seamless mounting tabs and debounce pin bushings
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Use a larger piston shock

Customer wanted the OEM ride and handling but I found them springy just pushing the front of the truck and leaning into corners. I wouldn't put them on my 2500hd silverado. The customer states that these dampers are too weak for 2500hd and the driving behavior is too springy. Best for 1500 rear wheel drive only.

Pros
  • KYB recommended OEM shock
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
