A shocking story full of ups and downs.

Seems to work fine. They were mounted on the front of an old Corvette with a transverse leaf spring replacing the leak and they don't really need to be very stiff as the leaf is inherently very damping.

Pros
  • Shock absorber
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

84 Z51 vette on Shocks, Struts & Suspension

I needed front shock absorbers for my 84 Z51 vette, I couldn't find anyone who stocked the correct Blistine sport shock absorbers (at a decent price) so I took my previous one I'm happy with them and I can't tell any noticeable difference between them and the blisters I have in the back of my car but I don't expect them to last that long. Time will tell but they seem good for $.

Great shock but NO KYB compression belt

Installed on my 1984 Corvette. They are a bit stiff compared to OEM and Bilstein. They are for the front but they do NOT have a plastic tie to pull them out of the box, I had to make my own using a long heavy duty zip tie. What should have been an easy job turned out to be much more difficult. Not sure if that was the reason they were B stock but they came in the same factory packaging as the rear ones. I would appreciate a comment from KYB on this.
