Really, don't waste your time. I bought them for my son's "Crazy Hair Day" at school and they didn't fit at all. The tines of the comb prevent wet hair from coming into contact with the crayons, so you have to rub really hard to get anything loose. It must have been painful so we took the crayon out of the comb and tried just rubbing it over his hair and it worked a bit but we still had to press really hard to get even a speck of color. If you need a temporary color I recommend Colorista spray…

So first of all you won't get the result you see in the picture lol. But I didn't intend to. It gets the job done and is perfect for a crazy hair day. My daughter has very blonde hair so if we don't shampoo it twice and wash it well it can stay even after washing. But it comes out and the colors look great. You'll feel some of that chalky texture in your hair again that you've been expecting. This is true, but you need to apply some pressure and repeat until you get the result you want.

We bought this after I colored my hair and our 5 year old wanted it. His hair is getting a little longer due to the lack of a COVID cut, but it's not crazy long. Firstly, if your child has short hair, combs are practically useless. We took out the chalk and tried applying it directly to his hair, but it almost didn't work, leaving obscure sticky marks on his hair. I found it easy to use after only a few minutes of testing (this was my first experience with hair chalk). I color my hair with Manic Panic, Crazy Colors etc and wanted to try these for root coverage between colors. By using very small patches and spraying with water first and then, sorry, lightly scrubbing the roots with colored chalk, you'll get decent coverage. It seems very waxy but it's not bad for the roots, it seems to work as a hair root styling tool. I haven't tried doing anything more

I ordered this item for my daughter's Halloween costume. Tested on arrival day. It's good for one occasion, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. My daughter's hair is blonde so the color shows through quite well, but the hair needs to be damp to apply, I had to rub the strands up and down a few times to help it blend into the hair. It stayed pretty sticky and easily transfers to other things. Her hair stayed rose gold after one wash when I added red. Washed out completely in the next wash.
