No tech support for computers and accessories

Before I unpacked the unit I called to see if my USB modem is compatible with the KR2. I was told to search the web for a compatibility chart. In this 2008 table, there were modems that are no longer manufactured. When I asked them for a new list they said it was the latest list they had. When asked about support for modern USB modems, they had no information. I assumed this was typical Indian-Asian support who couldn't do anything but read the script. I mean why sell a product that requiresโ€ฆ

Cons

The best mobile router invented

Can't say enough about this router. I use a Verizon air card and this router does the trick. I can plug it into my car adapter and stream music to iHeart Radio or Pandora. I can also use WiFi on the go so my battery lasts longer and I don't use up my data. I can also use my navigation on my iPhone so this router can be used for many purposes including work. As a recruiter, I often have to work with prospects from home, so mobile Wi-Fi is a must in my daily work. Great device. Fast and reliable.

Cons
  • I'm nervous

It was very easy to set up and I had no problems with it.

I had an old version for use with the Aircard. I'm afraid to upgrade as it's old and unlimited. and actually very cheap, so I needed a new router. It was very easy to set up and I had no problems with it. I needed my computer friend to go into Team Viewer to set up the security and password for the wireless part. and it did it in about 2 seconds after playing with it for 3 hours! lol, I'm NOT a computer scientist or techie! So you get an idea of how easy it is to set this up.

Expensive but still great product

Update 09/25/2010 Since Verizon recently took over Alltel, the connection no longer breaks down after a few hours of inactivity. Still works great. The firmware update fixed the problem with logging into the router. I should also have mentioned that I use an express card and not a USB stick. ---------------- I bought this after buying an evdo card from Alltel. The card was mainly used in my Macbook Pro but I wanted to be able to share the internet with 2 other computers in the house. Since theโ€ฆ

Home Use Networking Products

I live in the country, we have poor phone service, no cable, no DSL, only satellite and weak cell service. I decided to give it a try and surprisingly I had a better internet connection when installing my aircard in Kyocera than when I use my aircard on my computer. The biggest benefit is that all my kids can connect anywhere in the house. The download speed is surprisingly good.

  • Very Expensive
