Should have returned it before it was too late

This thing won't stay connected to my iMac. I've tried several Thunderbolt 3 cables, but touching them even lightly will lose the connection. I'm afraid the drive will be damaged if it isn't unmounted as often. I use Graid equivalents all the time with no problems. Basically, I wanted this device to be compatible with built-in SD and CF card readers. I should have returned it before it was too late if I had bought the Graid instead.

Died after 2.5 months of use

I love LaCie wheels. I've bought several over the years including 3 different raid drives. I purchased a LaCie 2Big Dock Raid Thunderbolt3 20TB drive on May 29th. Today is August 14th and the drive is not working. If it worked, it was a good ride. There are no complaints. I've spent more time with our LaCie Technical Support to no avail. They will send me a new case. They say the disks should be fine. Unfortunately they have no idea when to send me an attachment as they have nothing to send…

Works great with iMac Pro - update DEED today!

I use this disc to edit video in Premiere Pro, both 1080HD and 4K video files. I chose this model based on my experience with Lacie products and the speed of this drive. I'm 4 ½ months old and it's been tough. I would buy this CD again. Great bang for your buck. Update February 2019: RAID did not turn on today. I contacted tech support and they sent me a new case. There is a good chance that the drives will not be recognized by the new RAID controller and my drives will initialize which will…

Difficult to set up and requires quality cables

Love this drive - works well and is fast enough for video editing on a Mac Pro. It was a bit fiddly to set up and the instructions weren't the best. We strongly recommend reading the entire manual online. Uses a Lightning cable to USB-C adapter. Tried using a dedicated USB-C cable first (from Apple) but that didn't work and the drive was dead. Almost sent back - thought the power supply was defective (it has no light), then tried the dedicated Lightning- to Lightning cable and the Lightning to…

High quality TB3 hard drive and docking station. Worth the price!

I usually wait about a year before writing a review but everything went great with my 2017 MBP. The speeds with TB3 are excellent and I don't have to buy an expensive docking station as it has BOTH DisplayPort and USB-C ports to support external displays (plus 2 TB3 ports for daisy chaining). I actually bought a $300 dock (which I attached this garland to) and never use the dock as it has everything I need. and if I was going to be using a lot of USB 3.0 devices I would just grab a much cheaper

Stay away - unreliable with customer service

I bought this drive at the end of 2018 and it worked great until 2 months ago. At this point I started getting disk read errors. About a month ago, the status indicator turned red. Tech support took up to 2 weeks to get back to me and consisted of the obvious workarounds 1. Try a different computer2. Try a different USB cable3. Try a different port on the computer as the 5 has a 5 year warranty I was able to get a new drive. I could either return my drive first, wait for it to arrive and then…

So far so good! - External Hard Drives

The docking station was purchased to replace a burned out Synology NAS and due to a change in backup strategy. I mainly use it for the photography workflow. I have a late 2015 MBP called TB2 so I need to use the dock with an Apple TB2 to 3 adapter. I saw somewhere that you need to use an Apple adapter for the dock to work properly. So far this circuit has worked flawlessly. I use it as a 10TB RAID 1 device. The rear DisplayPort connector is handy for a legacy external monitor, although you'll…

Tech support, support materials, website, everything is terrible

This hard drive was purchased based on Revain reviews and online reviews. Some reviews give the impression that this hard drive is Mac-ready. unfortunately this is not the case. Worse, the support is very poor: 1. Each tech support call results in a wait time of at least 30-45 minutes.2. When I finally found someone, he recommended I create an Apple Time Machine backup first. The backup took 20 hours for 1 terabyte of data. According to LaCie Technical Support, the backup should have taken 1-2…
