My cat immediately went to the scratching post and sat on it. He stays where he is. At first I thought it was too small, but it's big enough for my cat to scratch and hold in the corner. Since I bought this rug, my cat has never scratched the floor. I gave 4* because I would have preferred the mat to be about 2-3 inches longer.

Honestly lifesaver, my cat is about 8 years old and he has only recently started scratching his claws on the edge of my bed, it didn't really bother me because he is my sweet angel and then to mine sweet angel made a hole in my mattress. Oh and he's terrified of scratching posts and towers so I knew I couldn't get them so I bought this one and stuck it under my table legs and he's been used to it on my mattress ever since!
