Resubmitting a previous review is problematic to protect! Now sticks to my laptop! DO NOT BUY

The previous reviewer from last week (the same week I bought my lock) hit the nail on the head. My husband and I are pretty good at things like this and this lock is very difficult to activate in two ways: 1) Setting the default initial combination was difficult to say the least. The instructions leave a lot to be desired and 2) After using the lock for several days with no problems (with my own combination), this morning I had trouble turning the lock on - it wouldn't close, it kept openingโ€ฆ

DO NOT BUY THIS for security locks

How can anyone build a lock that automatically resets its configuration to any number when connected to a laptop - and then learn about it (assuming someone reads them customer reviews - see comments on other reviews) and then resell this product - it's just a mess! The product worked for about a year - and then one day it decides to reset itself to a random combination while still connected/locked to the computer - apparently pressure on the cable can cause this. When nothing else worked, Iโ€ฆ

No problem. on computers and accessories

I disagree with the reviewers who speak negatively of this lock. I've been using one for over a year and just got another one. Both were the same product which IS the product shown in the picture. There are color differences between them that are barely noticeable and are probably due to one of them being over a year old while the other is brand new. I repeat that I have had it for over a year. At that time there were phases in which I used the lock several times a day. By use I mean take itโ€ฆ

DO NOT BUY THIS

. (assuming someone reads those customer reviews - see comments on other reviews) and then resells this product - it's just a crap! connected/locked to the computer - obviously this can happen by putting pressure on the cable. When nothing else worked, I had to literally cut the lock (no wire - a lock!) in half with a hacksaw.

Not what I think Like Kensington Standard

I could be wrong but I thought most laptops have a kensington slot and the lock comes with a set opposite jaws used fixed on the laptop. I've had three locks in the past that worked this way and they were compatible with all my laptops. I probably didn't explain it clearly, but the jaws usually work like tics and lock by opening rather than closing. In each case, this particular lock works differently and requires you to insert a "T" shaped metal tab into the slot and rotate it 90 degrees. Theโ€ฆ
