Works great on stainless steel

I couldn't get it to work on aluminum. I've tried a ton of different power/speed settings but the rest just blasted off the aluminum blanks. Tried it on a paint scraper and it's beautiful. Update: Made some brushed stainless steel plates and they were all great. I am using a Chinese K40 laser that has been upgraded with a laser board controller and Lightburn software.

Does not work on aluminum

Seller must advise that this product will not work on polished or brushed aluminum surfaces. If you apply a thicker layer it will wash off immediately, if you apply a very thin layer they seem to stay for a while but if you rub them with a light brush to remove the residue they just fall apart. Based on other reviews it seems to work on stainless steel and glass surfaces but I haven't tried it yet. This little powder is quite expensive. Very disappointed.

Pros
  • paper and crafts
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Excellent goods. Did the job.

I had to stamp 500 stainless steel circles with our laser engraver and it worked very well. Divide the volume among all 500 parts. (We ended up with a lot of extras) I used a 40w engraver at 95% power and an engraving speed of 450mm per second. It's important to make sure the layer you paint on top is opaque! If this doesn't prevent all of the metallic paint from showing through the engraving, it will rub off. The mixing instructions were easy. Pour denatured alcohol into line and stir/shake. I
