I am very happy with these wires. Except the ends aren't finished/rounded so they snag on your yarn! If you don't have a lot of room to go around the edge, it will be difficult to get the wire through the cloth without tearing the yarn. I didn't have other locking wires (and haven't tried welding wires) so can't compare them but these worked great for me. They give a very nice straight line to the scarves I've made. The gifts I blocked with these pins look much prettier and more professional than regular pins. They come with T-pins, but I really only use sewing needles to hold the wires in place when I want to stretch the lock a bit. They "ring" a bit in my hands when I use them which means they aren't very high quality steel,

Guess I'll be the first to differ from the rave reviews here. What I received turned out to be cheap guitar strings, hand rolled into a circle and tied with haversack ribbon to hold them together. Keep the tie as you will need it for storage if you decide to use it.
