Brilliant leaf picker in lawn and leaf bags

I love it for its ease of use. It looks like a delicate material, but if you use it as expected, it helps a lot with leafing out. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that it's difficult to fold it back into the original storage shape. This could be remedied if there were a set of folding instructions.

Pros
  • Folds for storage You want it to be able to unfold wide when loading leaves, but when it's time to put it away you need a compact one. This funnel does both. When you're done, simply twist to fold figure 8. Once folded, you can use the straps to keep them closed. When you're ready for your next mission, unplug and re-open to load more!

Everything about this device is great and beautiful except for two cases.

Everything about this device is great and great with two exceptions. Least serious is that the rear end has a tendency to tip down and dump some of the cargo if you overfill it (and I did A LOT!). Not all, but enough to notice. More seriously, when it came time to put it away, I couldn't get it anywhere near the size it came in. However, it could be me.

The material repels water for the leaves that get wet. The smooth back makes it easier to unload the bag as leaves/trash slide straight into the bag.

This still requires a lot of work, but is more efficient than hand shoveling.

I use Leaf Taco in combination with a plastic leaf chute to keep the bag open. I don't use a harness. I rake a ton of leaves into the circle, grab both sides of the taco with one hand, and stuff the leaves into the bag with the other hand. In an ideal world, gravity would allow the leaves to simply slide into the bag. That's wishful thinking. You have to actively pull them out and push them into your pocket to make room. Overall I'd say it's 40% more efficient than picking leaves with hand…

Pros
  • Fast and convenient: the leaves fall every autumn and with them the amount of free time. Collecting vacation time every year shouldn't be a part-time job. Remove that task from your to-do list in much less time with this funnel. Load and pack in two quick steps. Cut back and forth. Do it and enjoy autumn again!
