I have treated my faded car seat with a restorer to repaint it black. This worked well, but the seat remained very grippy and wore out over time from the extra friction. This plastic top layer was the solution. It will have streaks with one thick layer, so some very thin layers are key. Now I can slide in the seat, get in and out of the car with ease, and the color refresher doesn't wear off.

I have to say. Thought I'd try this on my leather couch and couch. I wore 2 coats. The results are incredible, my sofas look new and shiny, the worn areas are covered so well. But remember if you have a few tears, the finished result is rough but looks good, bought a 3 piece set, I sincerely recommend it, the sofas look beautiful.

I was skeptical but we have a very expensive leather sofa that can be split into parts (finish, not leather). I scraped off the flaking area on my arm (about 6"x 8") and applied the sealer with a sponge brush. It's milky, non-viscous and quite runny, so apply gently (it won't run too much).
