This is a beautiful journal. However be prepared for some imperfections in the leather finish. Some people might say it looks very handcrafted and be fine with that. I used some clear leather boot polish to even out the finish and am pretty happy with it

I wasn’t sure what to get a wonderful lady whom I refer to as my benefactor. (I have rehabbed a couple squirrels that her and her family rescued over the years.) This journal is such a cool way to write whatever’s on my mind. The leather smells amazing and there were scratches, i didn’t mind them, but if you didn’t want them they came off when you rubbed them just like the description says. I really recommend and it makes an awesome gift. Worth the money.
