It’s leather. It’s the right size. However I chose to use another brand because the leather is not as soft as I want (it is soft though), I do not want the charm on the cross band, I do not like the metal bits on the end of the center band, and I do not like the metal bit on the spine. Gave 4 of these as gifts this year for Christmas! These came very nicely boxed with 2 bonus "cards" that were like a little present before the bigger present. I actually loved the bag the Journal was in, I placed the journal and cards in the bag and tied a tag to the string and placed under the tree. They were loved by all. I loved the speed and accuracy of delivery as well as the product. It is a cute small journal that I sent with my brother for his journey in the navy. It has small pockets for photos and two types of paper to write on or add your own style. If I could have changed anything, I would’ve added lined papers or made the size a little larger.

Love this journal. Came in a lovely tote bag with a beautiful post card. Nice size allows me to take on the go. I got the 4x5 one. Love the feel of the cover and the various types of paper. This will be easy to refill. Though it's a traveler's journal it's still perfect as an art/poetry journal, which is how I'm going to use it.

I got this for many reasons, I eventually used up the pages and was also able to refill the paper, the leather is very high quality and still intact after having it for a couple of months :)

Bought this for a friend who is traveling abroad. He loved it! Small enough to not take up too much space in his luggage. Great quality!

This is a nice notebook and I like it a lot. However, I cannot find any refills for it which defeats the purpose of purchasing a nice refillable journal. The only refill option I saw was for the dotted or little square paper, for which I have no use for. As far as I can tell it is not possible to get blank or lined refills for the small size of this journal which really is a shame. I hope they fix that soon.

I was almost sure I ordered a larger version of this and was surprised it came back so small. Ordered a new one in the large size like I thought I was doing. Its a gift for someone who has large hands so if you are thinking on getting this make sure to get a larger size!

This is exactly what I was looking for! It comes with three pads of paper.lined, brown craft paper and unlined. The size holds my pocket calendar perfectly and it is very easy to take out one of the paper pads and replace it with a pocket calendar. I was not sure what to expect when I got this in the mail for the price but I have been very pleased with what I received! The quality is very good and the construction of it and durability is second to none. The notebook is very elegant and professional looking while also remaining very functional. This is a high quality, well organized, nice looking small notebook. This will fit in a purse which is what i wanted. Inside is 1 notebook of lined pages and 2 of unlined which can be used for anything, even doodling while in those ridiculous office meetings. I got the middle sized one and I think it's a good size for travel. Not too big to carry but not so small that it's hard to write in.I gave it as a gift for someone traveling.
