My daughter bought a raku kiln. We fired it up, checked the temp with an infrared gauge that maxed out at 600F, tore off the top and decided we needed more control. Bought as a relatively cheap way to check temperatures where my IR thermostat can't work (like in air ducts). It refreshes the display about twice a second.
