This mechanical pencil is good but 5B is not as soft as other 5B pencils - more like HB. The lead is hard and doesn't produce the deep blacks that 5Bs typically have.

Great quality, lots of leads. This isn't a complaint, but beware, the colored wires are a lot stronger than I expected. I use them for the bottom watercolors.

Over (clap, clap) Rating (clap, clap). I love painting with it, especially when using a small sharpener. BUT, you can get a 36 2mm tube for 4.99. They are called "June Gold", no advertising, just a word of advice: have a look.

I like the choice of colors but found the leads too hard to get a good dark color without scratching the paper. Since I use them for sketching, I agree with them, but they're not good for trying to finish a drawing. Not a bad buy for the money. The black wires are comparable to other brands.
