Powerful and Stylish: Leed Brakes Electric Vacuum Pump Kit - Black Bandit Series (VP001B) Review

This is a first class unit, quiet and easy to install. You can see in the photo I have a reservoir that you don't really need, but I had to install it to see if it would fix that stiff pedal. I like the fuel gauge, it comes with the tank. With the extra memory, my pump runs less than a minute to reach 20 inHg vacuum on startup. My tank typically lasts 10 inches of mercury for a couple of weeks. Should have installed it a few years ago.

I've struggled with one of the cheapest noisy vacuum pumps for a few years. It worked sometimes and was a complete pain. I ended up throwing it away and bought this one. Too bad I didn't spend any money on it. My brakes work a lot better, the first time I pulled out of the garage I almost hit the windshield. The pump is under the hood, with the ignition on it is almost inaudible, with the engine running it is inaudible at all. This was not the case with the other piston pump.

This product is complete junk. Bought one and installed it. He drew 8 inches of vacuum. No where close enough. Returned, took another. Vacuum didn't pull at all. The engine started but did nothing. Returned. I got a third, turned it on for about a second, and quit. The motor has power but will not turn on. All three malfunctioned immediately with no uptime. Stay away from this garbage. Bad quality assurance. I figured twice the price of others it would be twice as good. It's twice as bad.

Very quiet pump. Once it starts it doesn't turn off, although the relay stays on for 3-4 minutes, even if I unplug the push button switch it looks like it has a built in power off timer which for some reason allows it to after power on walking is satisfying. Draws a good 25 inch vacuum (my gauge is exhausted). I have ordered an adjustable on delay timer with instant off which I will be installing. I don't know why you need an off delay timer.
