🐠 Lee's 2.5 Original Undergravel Filter, 6x12 Inches Review

filter NOT 6 x 12 inches. The entire box measures just 5.25 inches by 10.25 inches. There is only one riser and carbon filter, not two as in the photo. The base does not consist of two parts as in the photo. The base is only one part. Despite all this I will still use it but it is not as effective as in the picture.

I have several small betta tanks that use bottom filters and my 2.5 gallon tank stays crisp and clean with this tank. I run them all from a large pump that is separate from the valve. I place a filter pad on each filter plate before placing the substrate. It has proven effective for underground filtration in the 15 years I've been doing it.

Perfect for 5.5 gallons. Tank. It works as expected when using a biological filter. It corresponds to the description and arrived very quickly. It has only one tube and one opening for use with one liter of charcoal. A filter included. I am very happy with my purchase. I actually had to buy a second tube to use on the other side after cutting out the shaded area on the base to use with the zeolite head. The head is sold separately by the same manufacturer.

I bought this filter for a 2.5 gallon plastic tank. It fits reasonably well except the riser with the outlet attached was too high for the tank. I just removed the vent as its only purpose is to hold the carbon cartridge in place and prevent small fish from escaping through the tube. The filter is still working and removed all the mud suspended in the water in less than an hour after planting. I would give this filter more stars if it wasn't too high for the aquarium. Of the available products, this product had the fewest defects. And the bottom plate is solid. So that's a plus. Others I looked at before buying looked cheap. However - the picture is a bit deceptive - there is only one riser, not two as shown in the picture. Although listed for 2.5 gallons, the riser is at least 50% taller. The actual size of the product is 5" x 10". Another dimension would be a bit small for what I needed but would work; it's a joke. The photo shows two intake manifolds; there is only one here.
