🐟 Lee's Premium Undergravel Filter, 20L/29, 12x30 Inches Review

Seems like a great filter. Our tank is cleaner than ever and there are no more dirty cartridges to swap out. It also gives the aquarium a cleaner look than a bulky corner filter. Highly recommended.

Lee Under Gravel filters have been used in aquariums of different sizes for years. This block is part of the filtration system in my new 180 gallon. Tank. I powered it with both pneumatic elevators and mechanical pumps. solid properties, crystal clear water.

I was expecting a little more durable - brittle/flexible plastic. It would also be nice if a piece was included to connect two 1" racks together for larger aquariums. However, they seem to be the only ones making more of the type of filters I need for reflux.

This filter fits perfectly in our aquarium. The only reason it didn't get a 5 star rating is that details were missing when we received it. It lacked intake manifolds and free activated carbon filters. I contacted the company and they found a solution very quickly to make us happy! Good customer service is important to me and this company has great service.

Don't waste your money on cheaper filters. This is the best choice and still not expensive. I've found that the holes need to be the right size and shape (slits, not holes) to prevent gravel from getting into the mass. The plastic it is made of is strong enough to last a long time. My only complaint is that the vertical tubes weren't long enough to reach the powerhead, which I chose when hanging it on the edge of the tank. It was fixed with a new hose that I cut to size.

Aquariums have had substrate filters for a long time because they work so well. It supports the growth of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, which are so important in maintaining an ammonia-free environment for your fish. Be sure to use the recommended size and amount of gravel; usually 1 to 1-1/2 inches deep and 1/4 inch in diameter. Irrespective of the filter method, a regular partial water change using a gravel vacuum siphon is essential for the success of the aquarium!

I ordered this Lee 20L/29L Premium Bottom Bottom Filter (12" x 30") for my 29 gallon show aquarium to avoid the high quality, flat, blue, The grid-like one I had fell apart after about 10 years of continuous use. I hope this UG filter's "Premium" status means it will last longer than its predecessor.
