Work but be careful

The siphon does what it is supposed to do but the fittings come loose during use. I solved the problem with small zip ties and tape to keep the water from splashing everywhere. It's too big for my small 10 liter tank.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Expensive

Easy way to siphon

I have long refrained from buying one of these as I am renovating the fish room but I am very glad I did. Had to play with this last night as I needed a water change and lung talk; 2 clicks and water flows. First, make sure you soften the ends of the hose in hot water so they can slide easily into the fittings, and be aware of the direction of water flow on the wringing bulb - water only flows in one direction. Definitely worth buying!

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Negative gift

Starts the siphon very quickly but leaks

The squeeze bulb works very well as a built in siphon starter but the bulb's soft plastic does not seal well with the hard plastic tips that connect to the tube. It immediately began to leak and the tip began to detach from the bottle. My solution was to use silicone to glue the tips but when I used it again today the silicone didn't hold and it started dripping again. I think I'll use more silicone and see if I can stop the leak.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Requires a socket

Easy to install, does the job

I had what was supposed to be a "self-starting" siphon, but it took longer to start than empty the tank. Ordered this squeeze bulb, cut the tube and installed the squeeze bulb in about 2 minutes. One push later the water flows and the (very small) tank is empty after 5 minutes. The bulb size fits the large siphon, but adapters are supplied for the smaller tube used with my small siphon. Use the hot water trick to soften the hose, put it on the bottle and you'll be good, no leaks. Perfect!

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Safety

Not quite universal

This is a very large (>7 inch) siphon trigger designed to fit 1/2 inch ID tubing. The siphon includes two 3/8 inch hose adapters. 3/8" ID hose adapters are easily disconnected from a 1/2" ID hose fitting due to the sheer weight of the drain hose (i.e. the shear strength is approximately zero). in the aquarium water runoff to the bottom. A threaded or screw-in adapter would solve this problem. Unfortunately two 3/8" hose adapters have to be glued on to attach the adapter to the siphon…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not sure

Should have ordered this product a long time ago.

. This is AWESOME! I no longer have to startle my fish and exhaust my hand by bobbing up and down uselessly for countless minutes only to find all I have to do is suck at the end of the hose and most likely get a gulp. aquarium water! I literally have to squeeze the siphon two or even three times (assuming my inlet point is high enough above the outlet point) and voila! The water flows vigorously out of the tank, literally without my intervention. The only problem I've ever had with a siphon…

Pros
  • . Free for educational purposes.
Cons
  • . Update available.
