Very well thought out

Bought for my lego loving plus sized son for his birthday. He loved it, to say the least. This thing even has a piston in the motor that moves up and down. Very detailed. The bad news for me is that it will surely be displayed on the living room shelves. God forbid we tear it down. Rschunimagu

  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Only available in black

The classic motorcycle is now in LEGO!

I bought this set because it's the same bike used by RUSH drummer Neil Peart. I've scoured other sites to find parts to turn everything blue to red, so now it looks just like his ride! Great sentence! You can connect to the LEGO Technic app and use the online instructions for this set, which seems a little easier than flipping through a book.

Pros
  • Great overall quality
Cons
  • No instructions

Amazing, very close to reality

Got this for a guy who owns the same BMW bike and is a big fan of Ewan McGregor's Long Way series (of course I also have a Lego Obi - Wan Kenobi, he's perfect for this bike). The only thing is not a motorcycle seat, otherwise it is very close to the original. I think this is one of the best things about Lego and the price is very reasonable. Great gift for kids or kids at heart!

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • poorly thought out

As someone said in a comment - Where's the seat?

I started with the HD Fat Boy. Excellent kit. Stay focused and don't rush. Everything went well. Looked full. Then I got a BMW GS. It was a good set too. I've been riding dirt bikes for years and you spend a lot of time on footpegs. In this GS you would be sitting on the running boards all the time. There is no place. However, I made the seat out of a rubber pack that I received with a K&N air filter for one of my actual bikes. With that the picture was complete. Next comes Ducati. Be healthy…

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Patience and concentration pay off.

It takes patience and focus to put it all together but I liked the process and the end result. Make sure all parts are assembled correctly as 1 mistake at any time will limit the functionality of the moving parts as well as the bike's strength and appearance. The instructions/pictures in the booklet are helpful. I didn't use the online instructions, just the brochure, and built a regular BMW 1200 GS, not the alternative bike advertised as optional. Expect a small handful of leftover pieces…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Hard to say

Fantastic GS model at Building Toys

This is a tricky build but when put together is fantastic. I ride a BMW GS so I had no choice but to buy one (and I don't regret it). It will take some time to assemble and be sure to follow the instructions carefully (wings not included). I found it very helpful to first lay out the parts for each step and then put them back together. This is because sometimes an element is added to the diagram without being called (and if you have an element there, it tells you that you missed something). Oh,
