Upgrade, not the best choice

I have decided to upgrade my 25 year old motorhome. The power cord originally pulled out of a hole in the side of the RV. I leave it on when I park at home and have decided to eliminate the possibility of bugs and mice getting into the camper through the space around the cable door. Also, if you plug the cable back in when it is unplugged, dirt and water must be wiped off the cable or it will get in with the cable. It has been connected for a week so far so good

I have replaced the 30A plug and socket on the van. The hot leg on the old spark plugs melted on my last ride. Removing the plug and installing a new one was easy. The 4 mounting screws fit perfectly. I then used a hacksaw to cut the outlet on my power cord, stripped 3 of the wires and trimmed the white asbestos insulation so no threads got in the way of the wire connections as detailed in the instructions which also reminds you around the black retaining ring and plug cover (exactly in that…

The product is ok but there are some problems.

Definitely a good price but I agree with another user that the output/input connection is a bit sloppy. I have other twistlock inputs and the contacts on them don't move at all. This doesn't apply to this entrance for leisure cords so the twist and lock process gets sloppy. Another problem I had was that the threads on the ring portion of the weather hood did not fit into the outlet adapter. I tried and tried, but I just couldn't get it right.
