Description of ๐Ÿ”น LENOX 4-1/2-Inch Diamond Edge Cutting Wheel (1972921)

Delivers 1,000 or more cuts without changing the wheel. Advanced diamond technology provides 30X longer life than thin bonded cutoff wheels in metal cutting applications* *Average performance in 1โ€ carbon steel square tube vs. thin bonded abrasive cutoff wheels. Solid steel wheel body greatly reduces risk of breakage for added safety, increased productivity, reduced downtime, and a lower cost per cut compared to thin bonded cutoff wheels. Maintains original wheel diameter throughout the life of the blade for better control, reach, and precision. Does not wear down like bonded abrasives reducing dust particles for a cleaner work station.

The only benefit is that it's probably less prone to breakage.

I'd say it cuts 2/3 faster than a regular cut-off wheel. I cut with him for 15 minutes. Based on what I did I would use 2 regular drives. The Lenox isn't cutting as fast as it was when new, so it's probably done. I probably won't throw it away because it's still cutting and I might run out of regular slices or have some kind of squirrel cut that could twist the slice. I could try another Metal disc but it will probably be Freud Diablo because I'm generally lucky with Freud. No, I get nothingโ€ฆ

Great Deal: Power and Hand Tools

I buy cut-off wheels in bulk from my welding supply store for about $2.75 each. For the price it even breaks on 3-4 wheels. And the diameter never changes, like abrasives that force premature replacement. And then you just keep cutting. Saves time and money. I'm impressed with the cutting speed. Only metal dust instead of abrasives and metal. I dropped my lenox blade sharpener and it blew out. Was able to get it working again but not as good as what was true. (Find out). The abrasive wouldโ€ฆ

What an incredible blade!

Bought a 4 1/2 wheel. We came close to smashing a cast iron Kohler pan but the cast iron fought for its life. So plan b. I decided that I would destroy this diamond wheel, but I had no choice. This cast iron Kohler is 3/8 thick and thicker. I mainly cut from the ceramic side. I didn't put too much pressure on the wheel, just enough pressure to make it cut. In short, it cut through about 25 linear feet of heavy ceramic coating. There is probably 30-35% of the diamond cutter left. About $12 fromโ€ฆ

LENOX is a premium brand for every cutting tool.

I'm a retired electrician and the Lenox name is trustworthy. So many good brands have been bought and destroyed by China or some other foreign country over the years. Not Lenovo. Bought to cut a residential quality chain link fence, posts and the fence itself. Worked exactly as I had hoped. Given the first hit, this blade cut through my fence posts (3 posts total) very easily, even on a cheap name brand angle grinder that I bought for not much more than a Lenox blade. I buy big brand powerโ€ฆ

Great blade, aggressive, durable

Like the blade Don't know if it can be offered in a finer grit for some jobs and to reduce the grinders workload. I found it a good idea to use the side handle most of the time when cutting the front of an old Ranger at a mate's. I expect it to become less aggressive/grabs finer metal cuts as it wears out unless a side grip and good grip is required. My old Milwaukee 4 3/4" Rt. angle grinder got very hot so this disc probably shouldn't be used with El Cheapo grinders, I suspect they won't stand

Cuts much slower than abrasive blades

I was hoping this would replace the fragile abrasive blades but unfortunately it lacks the cutting power of an abrasive blade. I was initially impressed with a few initial cuts in the 1/8" steel tubing, but after trying to cut the welds on my trailer tongue it went very slowly. It took me about 15 minutes to finish the 2" diameter weld to sever. I reworked the remaining 5 seams with a Metabo cut-off wheel, which only took 5 minutes. The only real advantage of this Lennox cutting wheel is thatโ€ฆ

THE BEST DISC SAW FOR CUTTING METAL.

Pros: Superior in many ways. It will certainly last a lot longer than cutting discs, discs and other Sawzall discs. Extremely fast in a small warehouse. Old and yet new technology. Serrated carbide blades should be obsolete and sharp shards of metal will be spat in your face or hands even with serious personal protective equipment. You can't touch it. All metal heats up when cut, except for a band saw. A 1/4" thick piece will leave a ridge about 1/4" wide. Not so hot, what's up. Lennox haveโ€ฆ
