USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

Color a little darker than I thought; works well from the start, when it came out of the box the performance was as I thought it would be; Don't worry, reliable product.

Hi speed connections are still needed

I recently bought a gaming laptop but was annoyed that it didn't have a network cable connection. Wi-Fi doesn't really work in the game world, even with AC. This device put me back on the path to high-speed Internet access. It was easy to install, just plug it in and Windows 10 recognized it and started working.

Doesn't reach gigabit transfer speeds

I have a gigabit internet connection and I couldn't transfer more than 300 Mbit/s with this device. I bought another device from another vendor (uni) and was able to get pretty close to gigabit transfers. In summary, this device does not perform as advertised and does not come close to gigabit transmission. Stay away.

Ethernet on the go for USB network adapters

I needed an ethernet adapter for my ultrabook which didn't have a port for a but did have a USB port. Using port C over USB is much more reliable for speed, which is why I gave this product a try. Install Plug n Play on Windows 10 and it works great. Haven't tried it on Ubuntu yet, but I think it works. This adapter also works on most Android devices with Type-C ports. Very useful if you use Microsoft Xcloud or Google Stadia in this generation.

Metal debris in USB-C port

Check the USB-C port plug before plugging it into the computer. The one I received was not immediately recognized by my Macbook Pro. I pulled it out and noticed that there was some rough bits of metal stuck to the inside corner of the USB-C port. It looks like the metal part of the connector hasn't been properly formed or cut off. I tried unplugging the junk and plugging it back in and then the adapter was determined. However, the part where I removed the trash is still a bit rough and I willโ€ฆ
