Like most Class D amplifiers, this one can produce more power from a smaller size and drive the speakers more efficiently. In fairness the product description is not a Tripath amp but a deliberate attempt to imitate the Lepai (Parts Express own brand) version is clear due to its use of one similar-sounding model name LP-2020A with a "unique" aluminum body. I don't feel like checking the real power, but qualitatively I would put it at 20% when the RMS value is 20W. I have a 40 year old amp with the original TA2020 chip. It's never been a bad little amp. Purists threw a tantrum when Texas Instruments bought the rights and "modified" it.
